These heads aren't used but mostly,in the past,on outlaw sprint cars and drag cars. Used valve covers just don't exist. Most people fab sheetmetal as I have done so also on other engines..I have the one pair of the Brodix cast covers for one engine but want to keep themon it  .New are about 400 bux and way back ordered. Hmmmmmmm,it seems like I have a CNC sitting idle and needs a little exercise  sooooooooooo I had this big ass slab of aluminum just sitting in my way for about 3 years soooooooooooooooo billet valve covers.

About 4 years ago I ran across online metals and have been using them for any material I need for the CNC .They cut it to size very accurately and are very easy to deal with. NO hassles yet. These 2 pieces of ally would have cost 320 dollars if I had not already had a piece 14x26x3.5  on hand to cut from. I have had a lot of people ask me how I cut the blanks from that thick of a slab. When I tell them I just flop it on the table saw with a standard wood cutting carbide blade on it they look at me a bit weird. LOL!!! When I then tell them that I can turn right around and do finish cuts on oak lumber they further think I'm crazy. It's the truth though.

I too use a carbide saw blade to cut aluminum. The first time I did it in front of my buddy, he moved to the far side of my shop. He really freaked out when I grabbed my skil saw to make a cut that wouldn't fit on the table saw. Warning goggle safety glasses and gloves are required. It does make smooth cuts.

Yessir! On pieces too large the standard Skilsaw does a wonderful job on aluminum,never steel. I also bought a "skilsaw" made just for metals,they run at about 1/2 regular speed with a lot more torque.. It is amazing how fast you can cut through 1/2" plate steel with an almost perfect edge. After that I bought the carbide tooth blade chopsaw. Best 2 things I did in a long time a few years ago.

I have trimmed up more than a few skid plates with a Skill saw. Ear protection and somebody with a WD40 can make it a whole lot easier...........

I actually have found that no lube works as well as lube ,in this application. A LOT less messy also.
