Good morning every one

Hi, My name is Bart. I am from Vancouver Canada. I have been building for about 2.5 years but come from  a autobody (resortation) back ground. I like to share ideas and build with steel.

Thanks for the Olympics - glad somebody was willing to foot the bill.  Its like drinking with a credit card - fun until the party is over and the bill is due.....

Hi all, looking for some imput on shop tools. I am looking to buy a lathe and or milling machine. Please give me make and model if you have any good  history with a tool. Also any hints on the 3-1 lathe/ milling machines?

For small ,very low precision parts in aluminum or other soft material they are well,just OK at best. The worst part tho is that it will NEVER be set up as you need it to be. In the middle of a part you'll need a different setup. Then you'll ned to set it up again to finish . Multipurpose machines ,no matter the quality,are just a PITA in general and 99.9% of the time make crap.

Unless your going to make some to sell,  That money for purchase would be better spent paying someone else to make the part.
