  • If it is worth doing!!!!!! Do it in the sand
Servicing a MD4s 2D
« on: March 28, 2015, 07:12:03 AM »
I'm going to put this topic here cause we don't have a place for just transmissions.

Jerry (sandsavior) and I are currently servicing his 2d out of his sand car. While we were in Glamis last month his rear main shaft bearing started howling. Jerry and I have just put together a complete mobile kit for servicing the mindy 4e and 2d transmissions.Portable breakdown stand and all the special tools to work on them.  It all fits in a container 35 inches long and 18 wide and deep.  More on that later.   Got it all apart and sure as the wind in Kansas it was tost.  Jerry was saying that he has heard of people using a three piece bearing out of a Suzuki car or maybe a bike but did not know who from. This bearing is said to have more thrust area and more ball bearings in it.  Has anyone seen or heard anyone say anything about it?  This is the second one for him and I think mine is starting to sing some.  Posted this on the other site  eyes and all I've got so far is 80 view's with no replies.

If I believe I cannot do something it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe that I can, then I acquire the ability to do it , even if I didn't have it at the beginning.

well ,don't feel bad. All I did was ask if anyone there had the backlash spec for a Fortin FRS5. You'd a thunk I asked to fook their wives.
