Heres the two areas i'm talking about, basically you only have the major diameter of the spline to the sharp outer diameter, supporting your whole car?If it were to break here would the wheel separate from the car?

I don't see why you think it's a weak point, but just for shits and giggles, if it were to somehow manage to break there, no, it wouldn't separate from the rail, there is a stub axle going through it and bolted to the outside.  Basically, all the weight is on that and the 1.25" stub shaft passing through it, where every other stub shaft has all the weight on just the stub axle. I have simply designed my outer hub to pass through the outer bearing instead of just bumping up against it, it is actually quite a bit stronger than a normal stub setup.....

Having issues with the rail, worked on it all morning and couldn't get it sorted out so the wife and I took the bikes out for the afternoon.....

Not quite as much fun as the dunes but a close second... ;D

Not exactly but similar.  Regardless, I fail to see why you think it's a weak point.  I've, i've been running this design for over 4 years, and after many of hrs of massive jumps in a 1600 pound rail, i've never had a failure.

Yes, i've run the same hubs since the second rail I every built. The first rail (my single seater), is the only rail that was completly different than all the rails i've built since...

There is over an 1-1/2 of material where each bearing rides on.....

he is talking about the radius were it meets the bearing surface, and the thickness after the splines were cut, You know that you dont machine corner to a 90, and the more radius in the corner, the less likely to fatigue there, You probbaly already know what he meant tho...

"the radius is matched to the radius of the bearing."

It is ? it looks a lot smaller.

So basically you "designed" a front wheel drive hub?

can't do anything about how it "looks" in the picture, but the radius is matched perfectly to the bearing.

And  I don't know what a front wheel drive hub looks like, I designed my bearing carriers around my needs,  even though you posted some pics that look similar, mine are different..

Can you post a picture of the inside of the bearing?
