I hear Dan at the bus box uses the same stuff.
I meant more in terms of the burning sensation.
Wouldn't they give some more plunge room for end of axle. Or better yet a place for the axle to plunge to if you made you own hub and didn't want to/couldn't cut out for the axle to plunge. Did that make sense.I agree the bearing should probably be cleaned when greased, but not always the easiest thing to do. At least with fitting they get some grease. I put grease fitting on my center spool, and on the rear wheel hubs, can assemble with minimal lube then fill er' up when assembled.
IMO ,and I may well be wrong but it's MY opinion anyway, Having a zerk will at least get the cv's some clean grease instead of waiting till one fails like most people do.IMO they're a good idea BUT I'd like to see some details of how it distributes the grease evenly IF it does that is.
Why? All the old is pushed out as new is added.
Even distribution? It says nothing about even distribution.....Where do you think the old grease goes? Out in the boot of course.....Looks to me like a good way of adding a bit of lube between regular teardown's and inspections. Not a solution to all CV maintenance. It may prolong the time between teardowns.......
