anti gun protest backfires...
« on: April 19, 2009, 03:47:04 PM »
About 100 supporters of a bill tightening Virginia gun control staged a lie-in on the Capitol lawn, but were outnumbered 3-1 yesterday by opponents who wielded signs declaring "Here Lie Disarmed Victims."

PRICELESS!
"There can be no divided allegiance here.  Any man who says he is an American,
but something else also, isn't an American at all.  We have room for but one
flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is
the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
loyalty to the American people."
Theodore Roosevelt 1907

I marched with about 100,000 (one hundred thousand) others against proposed gun control laws in Melbourne back in '88.  For Australia, that was one hell of a turnout.  Got bugger all media coverage.

Next weekend the pro-gun control yobbos staged what was to be the mother of all protest marches.  It was to be a real show of support.  I was amazed at how much coverage 1200 people could get!  I'm sure I saw the same hippy in each angle of footage.

I think the point was that the MEDIA is the problem.

What Camel? you once had a similar opinion to the general concensus here and yet over time you've changed you mind after really considering the realities and observing the results? do you think there are others like you out there? surely not! Actually I might know of one more ;D

In my humble opinion I think it's too late for gun control in the US.  It'd never work, what with their land borders and heavily armed southern neighbours.

Add to that the fact that there are many of us with the capability to MAKE OUR OWN weapons. And MANY willing to do so also. It isn't rocket science and the schematics for nearly any weapon is readily available. Wanna start a REAL black market? Just outlaw guns here . Make the drug war look like tiddly winks. Completely beyond enforcement.

40 feet of sched 120 steam pipe 3"  dia......a pound of bent, burnt up nails...1500 grains of black...and a gas grill igniter....

I have a friend that has built black powder rifles for years. The American people will not be disarmed whether trojan thinks it a good idea or not.
