So whats up with the gps? I don't get why you need gps on a video camera? Am I missing something here?

Pretty interesting. Based on reading the customer feedback, they still seem to be a tick behind  GoPro. Some nice options, my favorite being a mike input. The full HD models lose the rotating lens for leveling. Kind of  pricey after you add the waterproof housing. It mainly needs threading to add screw on lens protection. I'd like to check one out.

I wonder if the Contours accept SDHC , or even better SDXC, storage cards.
