America-Land of the free or freeloader??????
« on: January 27, 2009, 04:06:20 PM »
You Tell Me

Wow, how depressing!

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota ,
points out some interesting facts concerning the Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Democrats: 19    Republicans: 29

Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000    Republicans: 2,427,000

Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million    Republicans: 143 million

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2
Republicans: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Republican won was
mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country. Democrat territory
mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living
off various forms of government welfare..."

Olson believes the United States  is now somewhere between the "complacency and
apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty  percent
of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency"
phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders
called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the  USA  in fewer than
five years.  If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.

If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at
stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom
"There can be no divided allegiance here.  Any man who says he is an American,
but something else also, isn't an American at all.  We have room for but one
flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is
the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
loyalty to the American people."
Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Sorry to bust your bubble, but this is a urban myth.... Sounds good....but sadly not true.
Also it came out right after Gore tried to steal the 2000 election. Not the latest with Dear Leader Obama.  :P

Lawbreakers? Pft. We're a nation of battlers. Name a sport you can beat us at :P
you wanna hope Aussies don't take to grid-iron, just ask the Irish how good we are at their national form of football (called Gaelic Football) - hint: they cried we were "too rough"

For the record, much to our shame we lock em up in gitmo style "no human rights for you" type camps or send em back.
Hippy hey? Perhaps if you cut your hair it wouldn't catch fire so easily/often?
Where's the "Peace & Love".... Man....

So what about the Canadians?

The canadians don't come here with the sole intention of working at a lower wage than comparable American workers. They "compete" with US citizens on a level playing field. The South of the border (in reality from MANY S.A. countries)illegals are willing to work for much less sooooo......eff yeah we want them kept out!

Is not then your issue with the employers who pay less than "minimum wage"?

"On this day[20/1/2009], we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn-out dogmas that for far too long have strangled our politics."

"What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them, that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long, no longer apply."

"As for our common defense, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals.

Our founding fathers faced with perils that we can scarcely imagine, drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man, a charter expanded by the blood of generations.

Those ideals still light the world, and we will not give them up for expedience's sake.

And so, to all other peoples and governments who are watching today, from the grandest capitals to the small village where my father was born: know that America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity, and we are ready to lead once more.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with the sturdy alliances and enduring convictions.

They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use. Our security emanates from the justness of our cause; the force of our example; the tempering qualities of humility and restraint."
