not been in for a good while  so I thought I would stop by and say hello,
not much happening in the buggy world this side of the pond, not many places to use them left now, so I have
acquired a toy for the road at least I will have somewhere to drive it ,

do you have a thing called a Dax Rush over there, looks like a lotus 7 type car with a V8 squeezed in 

heres a pic of a guys who lives just down the road from me, supercharged v8 and 700kg all up




mines brand new but still in kit form waiting for me to assemble her, will start a thread if its of interest to you guys over the sunny side of the pond

hi Fabr glad to hear from you too,  hows life treating you  over there ?
will post up once I get going,
mine will be car engine but many here use bike engine to get the weight down to under 500kg

need to pick brains on V8 engines I have a choice  LS1 but I have to find one, or ford 302, or lexus or rover V8
what would you guys use and why ?

In the US I'd say the only answer would be the LS due to the fact it has taken over as the king of performance parts availability and is the dominant engine of choice here. You may have a different market there.

well LS1 would be the engine of choice here too but they are very thin on the ground, in fact I cant find one I can afford , where as the ford 302 I have 1 in stock lol, going to weigh my 302 and see how much heavier than the rover ( buick)  v8 it is and then decide,
roll on the invention of the teleporter then you guys could email me an LS1 over

As far as engine choices go....Well....I'm a Ford guy so.....

The Ls is like a scorching case of herpes over here.

Do they do crazy shit..?
Yes.
Stuff them full of pressure and they love you long time.
Can the Windsor family small block Ford do the same? (347olay!)

Hookers?  Heres my take, not from experience.
Cheap upfront, cost more to fix problems after.
Expensive upfront, no problems after.

Humm, about same as motors! 

Fords new coyote engine are making some nice number, heck even the v6 ecoboost ones too.  But $$$ as they're still a little new.  LS has flooded the US market with engines.  Guess everything else breaks but motor, so people just toss em?

Honestly,just about any modern engine is reliable. It just makes a difference when it comes time to sell .

hi   wouldent be hard just have to send my credit card number , but expensive oh yes, importing stuff seems to have gone through the roof latterly, I was looking at a sump pan over there $200  sounded ok just the very off putting shipping charge of $600   killed it stone dead,

an LS1 would be great  but I have a 302 sat here so I guess its the way to go, can anyone point me at some reading up on how to make them perform ??

mine has a carb would like to go fuel injection but they are rarer than honest politicians over here
anyone got a set up hanging around the place,   might be able to get my pal to ship it back here he has just moved out there, Chattanooga  which I think is Tennessee ?

first move is to hang this iron blocked V8 on the scales and see what it actually weighs as looking on the internet seems to throw up hugely varying estimates
