I knew Aussies did things little different. ;D  No weight on train, to fast bounce right off track.  Train driver seems like the perfect drinking on job job.  Just put on cruise, train follows track and go get another cold one. :o
You can keep your CHANGE, I'd like to keep my DOLLAR.

I'm really suprised that those train cars didn't leave tracks in the asphalt.

They did!

Drove over it last night..almost had to engage 4wd... which is really difficult in a sedan... Ill take some pics and post em up...

Did you know that the flat top cars ONLY sit on their suspension? I didnt, when they lifted em up with the crane the wheels and suspension stayed put on the ground. They were towed off the road... I guess nothins gonna make jump off in normal use....

Yah,  The bearing assemblys stay with the cast wheels.  They have facilities where they pull them through, and lift the car, roll out the tired set, and roll in a new set then drop the car back on and off they go.  Only takes a few minutes.  I always wondered why you see truckloads of train wheels going down the highway.

I think a lot of that has to do with Australia being on the "bottom" of the globe, so gravity is different....  ;D

Hey Carl that reminds me of the story I heard of an American cruising down the highway in his newly rented mobile home, feeling hungry he engaged cruise control and decided to go get himself a cheese sandwich. When he woke up in hospital asking what had happened, he was told he was very lucky to be alive. Naturally when asked he told his story of engaging cruise control and going to get a cheese sandwich. ::) ::)

Actually all railcars are held together by gravity, including 99% of the locomotives, As a matter of fact I worked on the only track grinder in Austrailia, It was produced by a company called Loram maitenance of way
If any of you Aussie's see a  Yellow and black 8 car train with lots of sparks coming out from under it...think of me...I spent a couple thousand hours inspecting and working on that sucker...
That was a great job ;D
