I am a bit worried about what to do with the turbo sinister car's chain I am working on right now though. I am thinking it will be OK for awhile until he starts to get comfortable with the speed. Hopefully, by then I will have some more info to work with.
since your drip setup worked, I am thinking the quickest and cheapest thing to do is to just do that, only make a removable aluminum shroud to go around the outside of the chain to keep it from making such a mess. I would make it easily removable, and build a couple of them so it can be unbolted to install a clean one then let the old one soak overnight in some thinner when it gets caked up with sludge.I really do like the oil bath idea, I just have a couple concerns. Cost, how to fit it on a Jeffco unit that has to be adjustable, and power loss do to oil viscosity, which is what robs the reverse units of some of their power I believe. If the drip works, and the only concern is the mess it makes, what could be easier than a chain guard all the way around to take care of the mess?
ill donate a 4 inch wide silent chain to the cause....
But since I'm tired of going over and over and over it,I'm saving my breath.
