............I do have to say that it is funny that the discussion went from what hp#'s jeffco claimed the box capable of to how quick fix idea's to cool the chain. ..........
Off topic...so it got split...I was thinking a couple of days ago to split it again...but you guys were posting too fast
So basically, we got off topic from the off topic............
this is what I have been saying, there is definitely no sprocket alignment issues!! we just need to move the box back and add 30% to 50% to the chain length like we discussed. there will still be heat from two small sprockets but if you can keep a chain in there for one season I wouldn't think that's too bad for the power your running. I do have to say that it is funny that the discussion went from what hp#'s jeffco claimed the box capable of to how quick fix idea's to cool the chain. it is a very interesting discussion none the less as well as good info for others!
lets just all get drunk that will take care of it!
a larger sprocket on the jeffco unit would be nice and of coarse you would have to install a bigger countershaft sprocket as well. what ever change we make to the rail we'll make sure to leave room for that option but for now we will try a longer chain and see if it will hold a chain for at least a 4 day trip! I wonder how large of a sprocket jeffco makes for that unit? It would be great to get one summer out of a chain on enemy's setup but realistically probably atleast 2 chains per summer.
Unfortunately, a larger rear sprocket would start to interfere with the drive cups. And to compensate on the gearing would take a much taller rear tire since the largest counter shaft sprocket that will fit is a 16 tooth in a 630 chainI think I just made sense.. :-\
yep, I forgot about the cover plate!
