« on: February 17, 2010, 08:04:54 PM »
So I need to freshing up my blueprint reading skills for my interview tomorrow. In my interview tomorrow I have to take a skills test which includes assembling 1200 piece assembly in 2 hours. Also, they build robotic arms to handle nuclear waste for power plants. If I get the job I will be assembling these arms.

This might sound well funny but have you googled it? There is quite a bit of stuff on it and stuff on you tube! It is houses but if you look it may have more technical stuff! Hope that helps.. Also when I went for one job they gave us a booklet and they said to read it and do as it said! When you were reading it seemed to go on a bit and there was questions in there but it was a trick blokes started doing the questions but I keept reading at the end it said now that you have finished reading this do questions 4&6 and go out side. Then blokes started freak'n out thinking hey how come he's finished he must be smart! And you'd see em trying to rush through it all. SO make sure you read all you're suppose to! ;D

Exactly Reidy!!  Once had a test w/100 question 1hr time limit.  Most jumped right into test w/o reading directions (def:book of crap men usually throw away rofl) all but 3 failed.  You were only to put your name on the paper.

But you probably still need to know how to read blueprints, especially if your gonna be at the 2 new necular plant their gonna start in S Ga.  Thats too close to me. nono

not blue prints. poor prints. here is the place that I had the interview with. The foreman said if it wasn't for Barack Obama they wouldn't be hiring 3 guys. This is what I would mostly be building. The Power plant ordered 90 of these for 1 year. And they have a 10 year contract.

I forgot to mention the work hours. For the first 90 days (3 month trial period through temp agency) I'll work 5-10 hour days. Then After my probation period mandatory 5-16 hour days. The foreman was telling me that he put 32 straight hours in then went home and slept 8 hours and returned for another 32 straight then slept for 8 hours then he put in 2- 12 hour days in. Wtf thats gotta suck on the body.

Personally I have no qualms about nuke power. It's a reality we will need to accept.

I'd be plenty happy with a reactor in my backyard.

Even better would be a big wind power generator, but beggars can't be choosers. Whatever happens, my home state needs more power, and now! Rolling brownouts are not acceptable in a modern first world country with a strong economy and a budget surplus...

Got a phone call this morning, they want a second interview tonight at 5 pm. Kinda of wired hours. Not sure if I'll take this position or not cause of the crazy 16hr days. What would you guys do if you knew that your unemployment is ruining out and this job cam up?  ??? ???
