If that tranny is weak it might be good to just air down and run those tires until the end of the season and then address the tires and tranny at the same time.  New tires and better bite and less forgiving might just finish the tranny faster.

Old tranny was 002.  New is 4E.  Will be freshened at end of year primarily for gearing for street use in 4th.  No current worries on tranny.  Glad to have it.
