At first glance it seems very bad but ,the Chinese market is huge and if we want GM to be capable of being China's Toyota as Toyota was to the US 30+ years ago then GM must be supported in their efforts to get a piece of the Chinese pie.

but something else also, isn't an American at all.  We have room for but one
flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is
the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
loyalty to the American people."

half the parts in cars are made elsewhere already.  Cars are too expensive to ship.  What I want to know is, if they really work for nearly nothing, how can they buy a car?

I will say if I were from Mich, I could see it might be more of a  kick

Whether we admit it or not ,nearly all USA made items are higher priced than the American consumer is willing to pay. Now I'll sit back and read all the tired ,worn out reasons why our products are pricing themselves out of business.

Isn't most family homes hover full with family members? And being China probably easier to walk or take shuttle compared to owning a vehicle.

No different for GM to build in China than Nissan et all to build in US.  Where is the uproar over that?  There is none.

Like it or not China is the emerging market and as a business you follow the growth.  They likely have plants in all of the BRICS.  We can discuss bailouts till the cows come home; but from a business sense, China is place you must be if you have a global product.
