Holley Hydramat
« on: Yesterday at 06:26:17 PM »
Finally had one pump go bad soooooo while the tank is open I decided to put 2 new pumps in and add the hydramat.I sprung for the 15x24 size with 3 pickups. It will cover about 3/4 of the tank floor. I must say this is the absolute hardest purchase I have had to convince myself was needed for the trip to Idaho.I mean I got it on sale direct from Holley (through Speedway)at about $200 off .First time I have seen any hydramat at a reduced price. This is the largest fuel pump sock I have ever seen. :m It seriously looks just like an OEM pump sock on steroids. rofl This thing had better suck every drop out of the tank as is claimed. Effin $723 plus fittings will probably turn into $900 installed. BUT,if it does as claimed, lasts hopefully 10 years and does not go bad as some have claimed it will be worth it to not have fuel starvation issues even with half a tank still.

They sure are proud of that shit aren't they!?
I had price shock when I did the Ranger fuel system, but I have never had a fuel starve issue since, have done full boost hits with a damn near empty tank, and have emptied it dry with the X pattern one I use at the bottom of my tank.
It definitely works... Just hope it lasts!

I was looking at adding it to the flat tank that won't fit now. Its not cheap at all but if it works it works and a ore filter.

I have seen some stories of it hardening and going to pieces. I don't know if it is an issue or not . Who knows what additives those had used in them. I did manage to find out they are nylon and should not be affected by ethanol / pump e85.
