Thats why i got rid of my trail techs. Got tired of stoping cause my lights went out during a ride.

Oh believe me, I have had about as much as I can stand of the P.O.S.'s! I want to go a different route but the money invested in these is  keeping me from doing it right now

Just another company's junk I wish I would of never gotten involved with....Seems to be more and more of that going on these days. bs1 bs1 bs1

Odyssey makes a small dry cell battery with some punch, it has 680 cranking amps, it measures 3 1/8'' wide 7 1/4'' long and 6 5/8'' tall. But that battery isn't cheap, around $150. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

If you'd have said you were using a quad battery we could have cut through the BS for your answer.LOL!!!!

Ahhhhh, the devil is in the details once again. It's sort of what my earlier post about the BATTERY needing to do the work of running things was all about though. I failed to elaborate . :'( :'( thumb down Oh well, Glad the problem is found. I would suggest goint to a larger wire though.

How many TOTAL amps do the lights draw at STARTUP when lighting both at once?

I do not know the total amps the paper work does not state. I wiring diagram with the lights just shows using a 20 amp fuse.

It just shows what i know about batteries and wiring, that is not a dam thing. I thought that the battery i was using was a better battery because it was bigger then other quad batteries at the auto parts store.

What types of batteries do others use, the one that is recommended for donor motor?

The Hellas pull almost 6, but it's for such a short time it's usually not a problem. I've run three off a 20 amp breaker without problems.

The mans answer lies in what the total is of whatever electrical load may be demanded from the battery at any time and if the charging system is capable of keeping the battery charged and able to provide that needed amperage for the time necessary. Without that info there's no way to answer what capacity battery is needed.

I called Custom Accessories today talked to Bob i believe, he could not tell me the peak amp draw at start up. So i  am torn between getting some 6 gauge wire and rerunning all the wiring from the fuse block to the lights, or making sure that i am ideaed up before i hit the switch for the lights. I am for sure going to step the battery up.

Thanks again for all your help Guys having others around to bounce problems off is a really great help, and has saved me from going completely crazy.
