Title: this has to work
Post by: Voodoochikin04 on April 22, 2009, 12:08:40 AM
so anyone who read my build log should know at one point i tried mounting a rack and pinion from some car. turns out since i was using front steer setup, the steering was backwards. and the r&p was way too wide..  well i spent a few hours today shortening that rack. also i have rear steer now.  check out the video

Something has reignited you interest, GOOD.  Looks close dont fully weld til you can cycle suspension and turn the wheels. Go ahead ask me how I know this.   :-X

Just make certain when you turn both directions the tie rod never goes past 90 degrees, or it never gets straight with the rack i should say, or ever crosses that straight line either...If it angles back you want all your steering radius to keep it angling back or you risk lock up...
