VW wheel info
« on: September 14, 2009, 09:11:17 PM »
I must have taken off a couple thousand bug wheels while working at VW but for the life of me I don't remember for sure if they were offset to the inside or not. If I recall right they were radically offset to the inside allowing a longer axle in the rear. Am I recalling correctly?

the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
loyalty to the American people."

I believe so.  The large hub was almost flush to the outside of the wheel/tire.

That's what I remembered. Thanks for the pics. They'll be perfect for loading wheels. Now to find a set.

Surely one of the guys that run VW transaxles should have some laying around.  Most of the old timers with VW rails had 3-4 bugs on blocks in their back yard to keep parts available for their rail.  :)

More I think about it I may look into getting desert fronts and seeing if they'd work for rear loaders also. Hmmmmmm, need to do some measuring.
