Not totally sure of what all you have but any time I have ever seen a light with only one lead it grounded thru the dash and the plug in for it was for the signal juice to enter.

The light has two leads - the sending unit has a single blade.

The light has two leads - the sending unit has a single blade.

Like the first pic? I thought that was what you were talking about finding.

With a setup like that the sensor grounds out the light (to the block or manifold) to light it. So one wire from the light goes to the sensor. The other to 12 voltz.

Appears that way - it appears that i have a sending unit that is not hooked up - single blade - close to temp sending unit.....  so i figure it is temp idiot light sending unit?  If it is a single pole it must be a gound circuit would be my guess?

"sending unit" is a poor name for a single lead "sender". It should be called a "grounding unit". A single lead only grounds. Multi lead "senders" pass 12V through to gauge OR to ground.

My Spal temp sender is like yours it grounds outwhen it gets hot and makes the fan come on there is a relay involved.
