I am a huge fan to be there riding the night of the 22nd. That night will be a full moon and Ive always wanted to do a night ride on a full moon. Hope clouds participate! I like the moon rise on the nights after through that weekend. Id stay the following week as well. Im game!

Have you ever done a night ride back with no lights? We used to stop and let our eyes get used to the dark, then drive back with no lights, really slow in first gear. It's amazing how clear you can see with a full moon. It's probably to busy, crowded these days to do that.

Have you checked the moon rise/set time for this year ,those dates? Full moon is no good if it doesn't rise till 4AM. A 6-8 oclock rise time is just about perfect though.

normally cowboy .....because fabr is more stubborn than a mule and won't camp there rofl rofl but since or if dunebound is going he will need a few amenities that his trailer doesn't have for this trip so we will be renting one of the trailer houses at dueces this go round. not for sure if carl is going in on it with us and enemy too or not. i know dunebound dropped by and bought a set of 5 lug rims from me to replace his paddle tire rims since they appear to have gone square lol

The dates are as set (for us anyway) the first and last days are not riding days Fabr. The first day we usually have one ride just to settle down and see what the dunes look like then eat, relax, and unload. By all means you can ride with us any and everytime we go out. Even if the other guys do not go. You are welcome with us. You just maihght have to pick up the pace a little. rofl rofl rofl
It would be great to see all of us hook up more for rides together. We will communicate more closely. Cell phones work great. We usually give each other a 30 minute heads up before we go out. If you aint ready you gotta find us on the dunes.
It would be a lot easier for all if you all stayed at Dueces. For campfire fun and meals as well. Not to mention it is much quieter and more secure bunch of folks that stay over there.
DS. the house next to us is available if you want to rent it. $125.00 a night. 3 bedroom and running indoor plumbing. rofl You can get one more guy in there then. and we can be neighbors for a few days. dd: If you want it let me know and I will contact Mike for you.
I am blind in the dark so all the light I can get helps. Last time we had no moon and it was rough. I am on a stator so I cannot produce artificial daylight.

If I'm solo I don't care on my trailer or renting the place at dueces. If I drag someone along then I'd say for sure on renting the house w DS Dune whoever. Actually it's cheaper for me to rent than drag trailer there and pay fee. Campfire sounds good, I got some stories! Lol

The living room will fit several air mattresses if the bedrooms fill up. Unless you guys want to spoon each other. LMAO
The house is no palace but it is livable for a few days.

I am ready to ride. I'm hoping to have my motor swapped by then. But im not tearing anything down till I have everything ready to go in and fire. Where is it written that we need to take apart a running, reliable car. I really have enough power to have a lot of fun. well i replaced the t3 flange gasket on my rail and found a few other concerns. not only was that gasket gone but the bov had slid out of adjustment and wasn't closing completely at idle. it was blowing open really fast and never sealing off. i set that when i bolted it on and adjusted it at ls but some how some way it loosened up but hadn't checked in since the first trip with it. got that fixed and figured out my internal waste gate had adjusted itself lol it had a tic of wiggle while the engine was shut off so with exh pressure it was getting past the wastegate as well which after that gasket went was meaningless no matter what lol so now that i have a ss gasket out of a turbo 2.3 ford which are readily available btw and the wastegate set tighter so there is just enough tension to keep it closed and the bov shut the engine runs daaaaamn smooth at idle finally!! throttle response is the best it has been to day na or boosted!! going to change back to 5.38 gears from the 5to1 i changed it to on the spring ls trip. 5 to 1 sucked in st a!

I'm fine with whenever. Not a big deal to set out the scale pads. We won't get overly anal about how level they are. We should be able to find a flat enough piece of concrete to set up on. Worst case scenario ,we can take them up to the gas station and do it out back.

Nope! But got his all tore down, cleaned and ready for the new stuff when it arrives. Could not go to the sand today because of the wind. Hoping Thursday and Friday. Wind blew so bad last night that it drifted some sand cars and a few motor homes in four feet of sand.

Well I have depressing news for me.
We are cancelling our trip in April for several reasons. First and foremost, we are going to be grandparents for the first time April 7th or so. The wifey has decided she is not going, 4 of our group have had to back out. 2 of them have had parents have heart attacks, 1 just can't swing it financially, and the other would only be there 3 days. Not really concerned about him, he is there right now for snakehunt. The last guys sold his car and would have driven 21 hours to make sure my brothers car runs OK and ride his Banshee.
So I decided to take the $$$ from this trip and get my motor rebuilt BEFORE it grenades in April. It has extreme oil blow-by through the breather which tells me the rings are shot. A lot cheaper to rebuild it now.
So you guys have fun and ride safe. I am super depressed. I had myself all pumped up and ready to throw some roost. Guess I will get a ride or two in here at St. Joe park before I tear it down.

No clouds, lite wind, going to be another epic day at LS. Fixed one fan yesterday and got one small run before the car over heated. New fans will be in today so I should be up and running before days end. Sand is so smooth and the dunes have changed so much. They are a little taller this year and more of them the way the wind has wipped them up.

it was a great trip, drove between the hail and rain and tornadoes on the way down but didn't get to ride with the big group much because we were over at dueces. did see fabr and mrs fabbr a lot more than normal which was good. that cabin ( trailer house) is actually a nice place, poorly insulated cause you can hear everything. like the trains tooting there horns at 6 am just to wake everone up lol and carl brought his new gal pal with him, again thin wall rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl dunebound took pics of the inside he'll have to post them up. i maybe got enough footage for 2 vids. this is one of the best group of people to ride with and camp with hands down!!!!!! makes the trip something to look forward too no matter the weather or circumstances!!!!!

I didn't have the rail to beat up this trip (new thread soon...) but thoroughly Brute Force'd the shit out of the place with my brother! A solid 3 days of riding and I'm feeling it today. The 12 hour "long way home" drive a day early might have something to do with it too.. That and enjoying it through a friggin MONSOON. I don't want to hear the wipers on the F250 for A VERY LONG TIME. It was seriously a downpoor the entire drive, except when we caught the edge of the storm on North 14 to meet my folks for supper, about an hour break to enjoy the view and drive. I'm always saddened a bit when I head home though, I always want another day to be around this family of duners, I feel blessed to be a part of it!
Brother Don took a bunch of pics with his phone, I will post em up when I get them. Unfortunately, I got very little media, my Replay's sound took a shit, and my gopro was full of water.. (long story). But I did get one that came out pretty good at camp when the storm split.
Can't wait for the next trip!!

at 21 sec into fabrs vid if you look right just past enemy's helmet you can see clearly the canal fast dug with his skid plate. ya know dougs buddy sure is a trooper after his ride with glenn and steering dunebounds rail back with that little blast of sand for the start off and getting badly sunburnt and i bet he wants to go back lol

ok so i asked allen to change his dates so i'll be there sept 20 and leave the am of the 24th.
We will be in Idaho a few weeks before these dates, so I'll probably wait until the first two weeks of Oct to plan a trip to LS. It will be much cooler then also. The first half of Sept can get pretty hot.
