Wanting to add a fitting to my steel diesel tank. Thought on the threaded compression fitting or should I just weld the fitting to the tank?
-
pull the tank and fill it full of water and i think you'll be just fine

both will work but threaded you still have to drop the tank to stick your hand inside.

Why not just put a T in the existing line?

This may work, and be easier??
Want to plumb my aux tank in a diff way. The adapter piece you use is a real snug fit and has to be tilted to side a bit. Theres a valve inside to turn fuel off when its full. Have trouble with it overfilling my tank and have a small leak. Need to get check valve vertical.

If it only had diesel in it you can weld on it too. I have welded fuel tanks on the spotters at KPAC as long as the weld was above the fuel line. We took the cap off though. I have seen welder so weld on a fuel tank full of fuel.
