That's not a busa can.I thought that's what we were talking about.
"There can be no divided allegiance here.  Any man who says he is an American,
but something else also, isn't an American at all.  We have room for but one
flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is
the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
loyalty to the American people."

the stock zuki cans are rolled over on the end, and the end inserts down into it, Only way i see to shorten it, is to cut and weld....

Anyone that has a good reason that it cannot or should not be done.
I don't have a busa can. I've never cut one open. I have no idea what I'd find inside.
Is it packed with fiberglass? steel wool?  I could buy one and try it. But if someone has a good reason why it would be so difficult, I need to know. Before I waste any time or money.
I guess because Masterfabr said it wouldn't be easy. I'm just wondering what the problems might be. Hell, building a buggy isn't easy. but we do it anyway.

It could be done if you want to make an end cap for it.The rolled end holds the internals in place.Cut it off and there's no way but a custom end plate/cap to keep the innards in place. YOU could do that I'm sure.

I think I also have an extra if you need one but I'm betting bugs will be much cheaper to experiment with.

Rick you can shorten it but like it was stated above you need to make a end cap from scratch. Ill be doing this on my Busa just to make it louder. I have shortened alot of cans with the rivets but the buda is rolled over (also stated above) which is why a new end cap should be made to make it look good. Welding will look like crap and probably burn off the glass on the inside where it is welded. I was told that it is not uncommon to shorten the stock busa can and its been done alot. If someone wants to buy me after markets then Ill give you my stocks. Thay are pristine! I actually had to peel the protective liner on the cans when I installed the stock ones. the bike I bought had after market but I wanted $2000 nocked off the price of the bike so thats what was done. It came with the never installed factory cans.

Making a new end cap is no problem. Sounds like fun actually. I want mine a little louder also.
The 954 always sounded loud to me, with the intake in my ear, but I was shocked at how quiet it was when I let rxpo take it for a ride.
I still need to go out and check if the O.D will clear. I think it will because the RC51 cans clear. I've got 4 of those. I think I'll go out and cut one open. Maybe I can do it with these.
