so the bike my engine came from just had one big headlight.. so it only has one headlight connection.. would it hurt to add a second line so i can run two lights?

all depends on the headlamp wattage itself... ;D Probbaly would be fine...

Do you have any other additional electrical loads on the charging system?  The thing a person needs to do is to add up all the electrical loads in watts or amps(amps can be converted to watts) and see if the charging system has enough capacity to run more load.

i dont think i wanna add anything to the stock system except an extra headlamp. if im not gonna have blinkers or brake light, then maybe a few more lights will work...

I would use the stock wiring to trigger a relay myself, easy and heeps stuff from overheating!
