Why, cause they said it couldn't be done.  Probably the reason we are all on this site.  What tranny you using?

if they used that motor in a firebird or camaro with a manual then it can be done with out to much trouble. I only say this because when I sent my pcm off to 3800 performance to have it flashed they said no problem they will just set the programming to a manual, and shut down the four path lock security system so I could use a universal key switch as well as many others.  what I want to know is how did you set up the throttle and how did you seal it from the sand?

I'll post some pictures later on tonight, but I sent my PCM to Intense-racing.com and it just cost $125 to have it all flashed out, the auto trans and all the security just flip a switch and push a button and go. No limitations to the motor, all out and go. Carl you guy are killing me everytime I talk about my buggy you want to know what tranny I running, I'm still running that old and tired stock 6 rib it has held up for three seasons now behind a stock 3800 motors and I know that I'll be really pushing it with this S.C. 3800 but I have definitely got my moneys worth out of it. May someday my ship will come in and I can afford to buy or build a big boys trans like you guys Ha Ha (not the way my wife spends money)

Oh the one thing they did was flash it to a 2005 spects and I wired it up to a 2005 wiring diagram. I had to change some pins around in the blue computer plug but that was easy. left the others alone. It is more about the security getting all of them shut off and turning off the tranny stuff the wiring diagram helped with getting rid of all the tranny wires along with several friends who helped.

Seems its all in how you hammer those tranny's, wait I seem to remember a vid of you tilling your yard.  Those are good motors, just seem everyone was scared of remote control throttle.  Good find, and a fair price too.

Fast I don't think I'll be able to keep up with my buddy Ron. I'll let you know one thing he can't wait till you get out to Yuma I think he want to through a little sand your way with his new motor. He put the LS 2 in his buggy this year and Cadillac Ron bought his 5.3 he sent me a video of Cadillac Ron jumping Missouri Ron's buggy looks pretty cool Missouri Ron won't jump it he says he is to old I just laugh at him, I'll try to post the jump here in a bit.

so how did you do the drive by wire throttle?

I laid it out like you would see it in a car. I need to put a heel rest so my foot don't slid around. I have had several differant buggy in the past and this is the most confertable setup that I have ever had feels just like a car. Sorry but I didn't take any pictures just a quick vid. As far as the wires go we just followed the the 6 wires in the wiring diagram
from the throttle to where they needed to go in the harness it really seemed easy once we traced it all down. This is the same setup that my buddy Ron's using in his buggy with his LS2 he loves it. You ask me how I'm sealing up the sensor it looks like it is a factory sealed unit, but I'm going to put a balloon over it and than seal it with some shrink tube. Ron has nothing sealing his up but I'm not taking and chances.

looks good!   i saw in an earlier post you commented on someone asking about your trans, I would say run your till it blows!  I know with my series II n/a 3.8 I got 14 hrs out of stock 2nd gear and 3 trips on a good oe r&p but I also hit the rev limiter at 6450 rpm quite a bit cause it's still pulling good there. between the whoops, wheelie's and jumping on sand and dirt tracks stock won't take it for long.

you guys crack me up. That is what I'm going to have to do is run it till it blows no money to spend on the good stuff, heck if I didn't build everything myself with the help from some real good friends I wouldn't have a buggy. I will let you in on something I've started working on designing a poor mans trans that will hold up to a V8 with no problem hammering the crap out of it. You'll just have to trust me on this hope to have it ready by the end of next summer to show. Somewhere in the $2000 price range crossing my fingers that it will work awful hard to justify the time and money to the wife if you know what I mean. Several cool things going on this buggy should have it all finished soon getting it ready for the powder coater now trying to get it there before Christmas.
