So how many mile are on it now?

Any mods? Tuner? Exhaust?

How much of a bitch were they to pull and how long did it take you?

I'm hoping I don't have to touch My 2000 for a long time........

bought it with 81k and just turned 94k actually. early 99 6 speed manual ext cab dually. 4" dp 4" straight back with high flow muffler which only helps at idle, dp tuner but only pull in 80 tow mode, egt's have never exceeded 1250* and even then only at the last 1/2 mile of a good hill climb ( my idea of a hill not carls  rofl) which with my th'er with rail and cargo about 11k lbs usually 24psi boost to 26 for the worst hill on I70 west of salina. other than those moments 1150 to 800 14 psi and under. motocraft oil every 3500 miles with rev x additive in oil and fuel along with new motorcraft fuel filter. also changed out the factory comp wheel to the ww gen2 billet wheel  and riff raff fuel cross over to horse shoe the fuel rail with slightly higher fuel psi at 68 psi as of right now. i have the early 99 so i have the solid aluminum innercooler where late and up i believe late and up all got  the ones with plastic tanks. the fuel fx kit made a noticeable diff in idle smoother and quieter audibly. stock .84 turbine housing with turbo sock. up pipes are wrapped as well. i have an 80 econo mode but stock mode gets better mpg's so i leave it stock when empty. this problem isn't common but not rare and no rhime or reason for them to crack.  luck of the draw i guess and on a side not i was online looking for tq specs and read a nice write up on powerstroke nation about re tq'ing the rocker arm hold down bolts while your in there cause they do losen up. 4 out of 8 cyl's were 1/2 to 3/4 turn from 240 inch lbs or 20 ft lbs. so glad i checked! you know i prob took more apart than needed but started at noon and gave up an hour after the video to up load the video lol prob 7 pm but i spent a couple hours pulling my exh because the dp has been rubbing on my man trans where the starter bolts up so i took a ball peen hammer and massaged some clearance lol.  i really didn't keep track and was in no hurry and spent some time cleaning the inj's up before i put them back in that day. the tool i bought actually made it easy to pull them out and put them back in but not something i would want to do again lol  the glow plugs have 10 k miles on them but i am replacing them again with motor craft of course. the o rings were def done on 4 out of 8 and questionable on 2 others now from what i read ( that's all i can say at this point) the original o rings were not made for low sulfur diesel so the lower is more prone to break down faster. the new replacement alliant power ones are way diff colors and changed in size on the middle and lower o rings. one common sign of the lowers going out but takes about 4 or more it seems is signs of oil in the fuel filter in the form of darker fuel or a dark colored fuel filter. that is what i read but i can visually see the diff in the new style o rings. stage II cold air intake as well with dry filter with pre filter.

the worst hill on I70 west of salina.

Hills? on I70?  rofl

Those are mere mounds. Try towing 21K goose through Colorado. Over a 10.5K pass.......... Power was not an issue, brakes were.

Only 94K? Your scaring Me.

Ex-cab, LB, 2WD, 6 speed. Has a tuner (forget the brand) running in tow mode. Has different exhaust wheel, I think WW2 (was on it when I bought it), 4" turbo back magnaflow. Will hit 25PSI pretty easy unloaded in tow mode. Was in sport mode when I bought it, couldn't shift fast enough to keep up. Useless. 188K

I shave about twice a year..........

couldn't remember for sure so i just went and looked ....98905 on the clock! i put a few more on this year i guess.....since yours is the 2000 you could have the ww wheel or ww2 if it's an aluminum one. 21k thru the mtn's lol no thanks i live the flat lands compared to many states lol those hills on I70 are enough when pulling a parachute lol mine was bone stock when i got it from original owner and he put a k&n air filter in the stock box and never cleaned it and i mean you should've seen it i would never have guessed they could get that dirty!  i have a 100 hp tow mode and only tried it 2 times....hits 32 psi in 6th gear real easy empty wot so don't need that and towing the camper i switched it on while running down the interstate at 75 mph and it raises my egts 100* so 80hp it is cause the truck has always been happy there. mine is a 99 6 speed dually long quad 4x4 and wasn't easy to find. found it in lee summit missiouri, owner was too old to drive anymore. with the mods the best i get empty on I80 at 75 or 80 mph is 18mpg and on a good day towing the th'er 9! that one hurts a bit but it doesn't lose speed and i can set the cruise at 75 w/o concern well under 50 mph cross wind lol i have stock ab injecors but enemy has an adrenaline hpop and d66 turbo along with stage 1 inj's and a few more mods lol

I did quit a bit of reading about orings and gaskets that were used pre low sulphur diesel.  Many needed the lube of the sulphur to keep them from drying out.  No diff than e85 in standard gas setup.  Might be fine, may last for yrs, may leak tomm.

Hey at least you stayed away from gas station burritos, Dunebound woulda thought there were aftershocks!   rofl rofl rofl
