Title: Staun Internal Beadlocks
Post by: fabr on November 27, 2009, 01:51:09 PM
Anyone have any experience with them? It seems like the best way to me. Am I wrong?

I wish to know more about them too. (sorta subscribing for that part) but I bet the guys at Pirate 4x4 would know more.

I do not recall if it was there or at the OFN some were talking about them and they did not seeme thrilled with owning them but I do not remember if it was more goosd than bad or???

Only thing I see so far that is negative is that on some tires with a wide bead like 36" or taller the bead does not go completely past the bead ring on the wheel ant the sharp edge of the tire has ruined some of the staun tubes. They say to ease the sharp edge on the tire to prevent it. They make it very easy to see on their site.

Maybe it's just Me, but I would have at least washed the wheels before installing the beadlocks. The amount of dirt on the bead probably had something to do with the 1 failure he had.

I gotta agree. Those parts would (by me)/should (have been by him) been scrubbed and the do it yourself with the spoons is nuts. They are ok in a pinch.

He kind of admitted that. Shouldn't have taken much time to have washed them tho. Oh well, those trail and mud guys got rocks in their heads anyway. LOL!!! It's just a JOKE!  If we have anyone reading this. I know the rocks and trails are a lot of fun also.
