Is it complete? Looks to be missing spider gears.

Dam did ever %uck up.  When I got out of the VW Corvair bis I chucked close to 500 of them in the steel pile at the scrap yard. Gee-sh!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

If I believe I cannot do something it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe that I can, then I acquire the ability to do it , even if I didn't have it at the beginning.

I dunno if it is easy to lock OUTSIDE the rear end housing but many Audi Quattros have a locking differential in the tail end of the older units (not sure about the new)  AND large German CV flanges.

I too am curious as to how you may be thinking about locking and unlocking it? I have had a couple wierd ideas on how to do it but not super practical to do all the stuff I was thinking to make it work.

Also how are you gonna mount your VW diff in bearings? Do you already have a bearing number for bearing with a flange of some type?

The VW diff is 41mm where the stock bearings fit on it. I have heard of people turning the diff down to 40mm so more bearings fit.

Or maybe using a bigger bearing and machining a spacer from 41mm to the larger bearing?

I got a few of those diffs here myself. Always looking for ideas on them.
Your mission isn't to dive feet first into hell, but to make sure its crowded when you get there.
