Alright, wanting to install a brake light, but cant find something I like. Thinking a single LED tube bout 12" long in the center of rear. Whats everyone using??
-
We used one from Kragen/O'reilly. It was inexpensive and it seems about the right size cosmetically.

I can take a better picture if this isn't good enough.

Any auto store will have one that is grommet mounted about 2"x8" long with about 5 LED's in it. Standard truck/trailer item.
-
I have 2 like them with white LED's I'll be using for lights that don't blind people while running around the camp at night.

The oval ones? Walmart $15.....
I might even have a CAD drawing of the hole they fit somewhere.
-
That be the ones. Post that cad up!

12" long?
I'd say a tail light off a sled fits that bill ;D
-
Yup but not as bright as the LED ones boost showed.
-
They make led ones now for sleds...definately not as inexensive as the walmart ones tho ;D

Thinking the 12" and just put 1 in middle. But I do like the Wally ones too. Guess I'll stop by and see. Was trying to find something to surface mount without building an enclosure. Looked at some 12" red neon tubes, that would add some bling. ;D

I bought mine from chrome glow.

I bought the ones in the flexible tubes, 13" long for brake lights. they are bright and you can cut them down to what ever length you want. they attach with 3m double sided tape. I stuck them right to my hammered finish powder coat, they haven't loosed up yet. note once they touch the surface you can't pull them off with out ruining the tape!

LS requires a red rear light to go out at night. DS got caught on that one last trip.

The LED one from Wally are hard to beat, quite bright too!

the gal let me in on this trip but I don't think she wanted to stand out in the cold and check!! but yes for some strange reason all of a sudden they decided that they have to be red at night don't have to be brake lights just lights or at least a 3 led strip.
