I have a "Curt" Weight Distribution Hitch and sway control that I want to sell. It cost around $500 new but I don't want it setting around collecting dust so I'm taking best offers. It' only been used one time. e-mail me or call 478-394-0330 if I don't answer I'll call you back.

I have a round bar. Works well, just keep the bars greassed in the hitch. Round bar units seem to cost less to buy. Either one will make a huge differnce. Takes alot of the pogo stick effect away.

Will it also stabilize a light tongue trailer?  I found a reese used local tonight, with sway control, Reese seems to be top dog and top price, He wants 3 bills for it, I offered 2 so well see... Has all the pieces for the trailer etc as well, I can get a curt on ebay for about 2 bills delivered with no sway control...

If I believe I cannot do something it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe that I can, then I acquire the ability to do it , even if I didn't have it at the beginning.

Unless you have too much tongue weight I'd stay away from th eWD hitches all together.Just my .02 from many thousands of towing with and without a WD hitch. No it will not help if the tongue weight is inadequate to start with. A WD hitch just transfers some of the weight on the hitch to the front of the tow vehicle. Now a sway control may help you out a bunch! The sway control can be used with or without the WD bars in use.

I didn't either for many years.I pulled with a 1/2 ton suburban for much of the time a 14K#'s trailer.

If you are tongue light a WD hitch will make it worse. I actually lifts up the back of your tow rig and that in turn move weight off your rear tires on to the front. Have you tried tractor supply. I got mine there years ago for about $250. No sway control and I believe it is a valley hitch. I still have it, still use it. Has to be going on 6 years. The bars come in different weight capacities as well. So you probably do not need a real heavy hitch if you are not pulling a large camper or super heavy load.

Ditto and if you use too large a capacity bar you won't like it either.Personally If I were you I'd buy a set of airbags for the rear and the sway control. Likely not need or want the WD hitch.
