TONE'S BUILD
« on: June 10, 2009, 05:50:58 AM »
hi

started this build as a sidewinder type buggy
was going to be light weight with an atc250r motor and independent suspension
front and back
after spending a long time designing and building the mainframe
i was given permission (by the other half ) to spend a little more money and build it with the motor i would preferr
as soon as possible i bought a raptor 700 motor
being a much bigger motor it will be mounted behind the driver

here are some pics

main hoop

the basic main frame

a few more frame members

and more

hi

so far tigging it
take a long time and uses a lot of gas ($250 a cylinder)
might have to mig some of it

the motor is a raptor 700
good strong motor with electric start and reverse all in one
only problem they only put out 45hp
bit of comp,cdi,port work 55hp
leave it standard put on a turbo 8psi ,cdi 80hp
only problem is the club doesn't want any turbo buggies

cheers

Gees Tone looks nice and neat, I take it you are a professional welder? What sort of welder do you use? What do you think of Miller welders? So I take it that motor is out of one of those yamaha quads is it?  :police: Man I feel like a cop 20 questions.. ::)

Got a pic of the actual setup?
"There can be no divided allegiance here.  Any man who says he is an American,
but something else also, isn't an American at all.  We have room for but one
flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is
the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
loyalty to the American people."
Theodore Roosevelt 1907

-----------------------------------------------------------
" You have all the right in the world to believe any damn thing you'd like, but you don't have the right to demand that I agree with your fantasy"
