Yes and no.  See "marriage" has been a church thing longer than we have been a country.  That's cool.  We adopted it.  Now, gays could get a "civil union" but the mere differentiation in the term makes it sub standard to marriage.  So, to be equal they need to have "marriage."  They now do.   

Again, I don't give two rips if guys, girls, transsexuals, unisexuals, non sexuals, a sexuals or whatever get married.  Having said that there are clearly issues. 

First up?  Tax exempt status for churches.  That was resolved in 1983 with bi racial marriages.  If they preach marriage between a man and a woman exclusively, then they may well loose their exempt status.  As you may suspect I likewise don't give two rips about a church's exempt status.  What I do care about is the ability for individuals to worship as they see fit. 

"Inclusive" churches will have a significant financial advantage to "oppressive" churches.  The government is now in the business of redefining words, and promoting faiths that have the most liberal of agendas. 

Like I say, we lost our moral compass; today it was codified.   








On the bright side I am spending the weekend looking for a sister wife for Shana.  I want to be on the leading edge.

Personally I feel the word marriage should include all 2 party couples from a legal/taxation standpoint. I also feel it is ,or should be,mandatory for churches/faiths/beliefs/people to be free to believe and promote whatever they wish. If we completely lose that then,wellllll,shit hits the fan as all zealots will be more than ready to start "holy hell".
