Sometimes They Won't Let You Be Honest.
« on: May 11, 2015, 08:33:14 PM »
Today I went to my fiberglass supplier. I had 30 yards of 3/4 oz/sq.ft. chopped strand mat I wanted to trade in for 30 yards of 1 1/2 oz./sq.ft chopped strand mat plus another approx 60 yards. A full roll is 87 yards so I said I'd take a full roll and pay the difference. They said it was an equal trade. I said"HUH????" I asked them what I owed extra. Again they said it was a wash,no money owed. I said OK and left. After I got back to the shop,I looked up previous invoices . I definitely owed them money so I called them, told them I'm positive I owe them a bit of money. Again ,I was told nope, nothing owed. 3 seperate times I have tried to make this right. What would you do now if you were me?

Either they are confused, didn't know how to do transaction, or they thought wtf he's a good customer just swap.

Had a customer/friend that I've helped out quit a few times.  He owns a restaurant so after our meal I go to pay.  He told cashier no money from Carl.  Cool that's great, let me get a piece of cake ( I needed change for tip about $7).  She bags and says thanks.  I told her I need to pay for this, she wouldn't take anything.  I ask for change for tip, she said no he'd take care of that too.  I threw the whole $20 down for the waitress.

I say chalk it down as customer retention, don't get mad, get even next time they over at your business.
You can keep your CHANGE, I'd like to keep my DOLLAR.

The people are great people, obviously don't make a lot of money, have been a wealth of info over the years and it would have cost 3-4 times as much anywhere else. I'm going to give it a week or so ,call them anonymously to get a current full roll price and decide from there. I'm in business myself, have a few times fooked up royally, had a customer that insisted I was wrong and also insisted I take the correct amount. After I finally listened to them I was very appreciative of their efforts to pull my head out of my ass.  On the other hand I have also intentionally done some very dumb things in the name of customer service.

Those are the kind of things that happen to good people and good customers. Calling back ONE MORE TIME in a week to clear your conscience is not a bad idea, but, after that sleep well Fabr. They know you will be back for more or will refer more customers.

You tried, now let sleeping dogs lie.

If I believe I cannot do something it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe that I can, then I acquire the ability to do it , even if I didn't have it at the beginning.

So you traded in 1/3, and that length is 100lb roll?  Assume full credit for trade you owe them $65.  If they wont take the cash, buy 'em all lunch one day or donate it to a charity in their name.

You must resolve this so you can sleep.  Some employees are complaining your gettin grumpy at work.  LMAO LMAO LMAO

The amount I traded in was 21.5 pounds. I received 102 pound roll in return.
