Yes, cast flywheels are weak, be he stated dumping the clutch at 8500 rpm too. When the pressure plate engaged the flywheel it went bye bye. AKA shock load.
How did they get the pics from under the car? Did the guy in the center of the pic lift the car up on its side?
I don't care what he said. The rpm did it. The clutch dump was just a coincidence IMO. Seen them come apart with the clutch fully engaged too. Got pics of GENE cARTERS CAR FROM Tulsa somewhere. Regardless they can maim or KILL people.
The bit that wrecked the exhaust also took a big chunk out of the front subframe of the chassis...Fabr the factory redline of those motors is 8200 rpm. People often rev them well past that, although the proper mentalists usually run a triple plate carbon clutch and a billet Cro-Mo flywheel for 11500 rpm...
