AHA!!
"There can be no divided allegiance here.  Any man who says he is an American,
but something else also, isn't an American at all.  We have room for but one
flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is
the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
loyalty to the American people."

I thought about that.  Brain damage is underrated.

That's why you have a rollcage completely surrounding you and 5 or 6 points harnesses. You don't need a crash helmet IMO. 8) 8) 8)

I have seen cages on "professionally" built cars fail. Not to mention passengers hitting heads on tubes inside the frame.

No excuse for how light todays helmet are made not to wear one.

You can do what you want. If I ever came to a wreck and only some were wearing helmets I would tend to them first.
Your mission isn't to dive feet first into hell, but to make sure its crowded when you get there.

The only form of motor-sport where helmets are not worn is sand cars.  Guess we duners know best?

Dude, I am not saying you should.  I am saying I will.

Fuuking utter nonsense IMO. WHen I had my big wreck I broke the helmet on the cage. I had a minimum of 6" clearance also when tightly strapped in to the nearest point. Yes,belts(and your body) DO stretch that much. They are designed to do so to lessen the G's imparted to your body. Helmets are just good sense IMO.

OK,

Picked up the new trailer.  It is all nice and purdy.  So I loaded the car.  Very easy to load.  5' ramps onto a dove tail.  Could almost roll it up.  Still have to mount a winch.  The car sits 12" below the header of the garage door on the trailer.  Rub is the light rack with the current lights is 13"   So, time for new lights.  Will be worth it so I wont have to take the bar on and off and just back the trailer into the garage.

Thinking about some 8" oval 50w HIDs. That would likely be my best bet to fill the horizontal and reduce the vertical on the bar.

They have an external ballast, but I guess it can be mounted to the roof.  So I am told.

Knew I would need some ballast for the trailer.  Yep, sure did.  It was almost neutral.  So the fix?  Well, bought a second tool box - had limited choices given the space.  So at some point function wins out over fashion.  Not exactly how I wanted it all to work out, but as good as it is going to get unless I had a custom box built.

The first black box is now weighing in at 320# for ballast.  30 Gallons of Fuel and water on the front, so I should be at just under 400# tongue weight with no fuel and over that with fuel.  That is assuming it was neutral before.   Should work.  We will see.   If it is too heavy I can remove some of the aggregate from the front box....

Mounted up the fuel can racks, etc.

I think the set up looks good.  Better than before with the deck over anyways.

Forgot to mention - also went and got the car registered. Now in AZ we have off site DMV offices - private companies that do the paper work for a fee.  Fully legit - just no line, etc and about $30.00 more than waiting at DMV.

So, picture of the old plate attached - it was an "RV" plate.  Limited to off road only.  New plate?  "MC" so technically I can drive on the road. Got the OHV sticker and a street sticker. 100% street legal.    Would not drive it downtown or anything, but for "incidental" street use such as leaving the house and going to the desert I am 100% legal to drive on the street.  Guess I will have to get a set of desert tires sooner or later so I can torment the desert critters.......
