Title: Headliner/ fabric adhesive
Post by: DeepBusch69 on September 17, 2017, 10:32:19 AM
What is a good spray adhesive that you guys have had good luck with?  I have used Permatex HD headliner and carpet before, but it is coming off after only a few months.  Maybe I didn't use enough or didn't clean well?  I have some new material, but want to find a better product first.

we use a 3m spray adhesive for small spots on headliners. have to spray it then let it sit 1 to 2 mins before sticking the fabric back up. the local auto upholstery shop...mc vickers.... said never use that $hit!!!! lol been using for years. i don't remember what he said to use or what he uses but it's a commercial grade. i would look online at upholstery shops to see what they offer.

Can be had in aerosol cans. Works well. Used it quite a bit.

If the part can be easily taken off, just run it down to upholstery shop.  There stuff holds tight, usually.
But if ya want to DIY, I've had good luck w 3m in contact can.  2 coats on fabric/vinyl, one on the alum.  Let it set a couple min, lay it on w/o wrinkles.  Then roll it.

Sneak peek? LOL
