Title: Anythoughts on SkyActive X or Freevalve?
Post by: Yummi on August 10, 2017, 07:28:02 AM
Mazda just announced Skyactive X.  A compression based ignition of gasoline motors.  Promised reduced emissions, greater torque, greater power  (%15%).  A while back Koenigsegg announced Freevalve.  Promised reduced emissions, greater torque, greater power.  Also a 100 year motor?

Seems the electric juggernaut may have to wait a bit?

The freevalve technology is some pretty cool stuff. I've been following it for quite a while now.  I've not followed the gasoline "diesel" stuff though.

Pretty cool stuff. It would be cool to have variable cam lift to optimize performance
