ZX600 ignition problems
« on: May 28, 2009, 06:38:58 AM »
Once again having ignition problem.  No fire out of coil for 1 & 4.  Have approx 7.5 volts to each coil except for 1 it has 11.5, can't find a reference ## in the Haynes book I have.  Tried new plugs, no good.  Ran well most of day, then quit.  Let it cool a bit and it finally fired back up, but ran a little rough.  Thinking I might have a bad coil now.  :(  They are aftermarket ND coils w/ new NGK plugs and plug caps.  Haven't checked the resistance probable next step. Any other ideas??

Checked the resistance on the coild, both primary and secondary.  LIke I posted before they are ND aftermarket coils and the resistance is a little higher than the book specs.  But both coils are the same, so I'm thinking the pickup coil could have and issue.  Gonna try the Kawa forum see if they have some other tips.
