Very nice car for sure. I saw a lot of good stuff there. That dyno,I'm embarrassed to say, is like no other I have seen. I think I LIKE IT!!! Apparently 4WD capable and no ratchet straps. Is it as cool as it seems? What is the torque capacity? How heavy a car can it handle without support?

I think what your really asking is Play Market versus Race Market.

The race market separates the men from the boys, what works from what doesn't.

So the off road race market makes the most since just like the short track market.

Thinking something for the Ecotech motors to start, also the 1600 cars as I already have a good velocity stack for that carb.

Also have something in mind for the LS series V8 guys.

I know a dude that would let you work over a honda 3.5.......   just sayin...

Thanks!

My brothers shop is pretty big in the Subaru world thus the 4wd dyno. The pods that mount to each hub are each capable of handling 200 ft lbs of torque.
The next set up is pods that are good for 400 ft lbs of torque.
Each is basically a water cooled hydraulic pump.
Check out dynapack.com for more info but yes they are pretty cool.

Thanks, the prototype is running the Lucas race in Utah this weekend. Running the R2C filter I think its going to be a Very Happy package.

Just got back the dyno results for the Ecotec intake. In testing the car set fast time in qualifying and the race. Wasn't sure what could be done HP wise for a box stock grocery getter motor  but the results are quite good. Torque is out of this world.

Nice. The run without your intake/filter,was it just an open throttle body? No radiused entry?

The whole point in testing is to show what a good velocity stack and air cleaner assembly can do for power.

Is it an intake or air filter housing?
Whats the total HP gain over the stock airbox/intake?
I thought stacks only worked on carbed engines?
They look cool.

Everything I do is for FI engines however basic intake tuning is the same.

The Ecotec that was just dynoed is in Funcos new Lucas Short Course Pro Buggy. Just bolting on the velocity stack-air filter assembly the engine gained HP and Torque throughout the entire RPM range with a peak increase of 6HP and 5FT LBS Torque. For a class that runs completely stock motors those are some a pretty serious gains.

Most of my intakes to date have been for motorcycle powered cars, minisprints, modlites, and dwarfcars. Of course there are a few buggies in there also. The biggest gains that I have heard from a customer was on a 08 GSXR 1000, 16HP and 10 FT LBS Torque.

Yes,but comparing your intake dyno results to the same engine without any airbox at all is a bit misleading since that's not a way the engine is going to be operated. Was this not possibly a comparison of your intake and a stock(or others) airbox/intake/filter? Just trying to understand what the results were compared to.
