Fast's Fantastic Find/Tip

Doug ,you are going to be SOOOOOooooo happy when yours arrive I'm sure. About an hour with windex and this thing looks like new. if it performs as well we'll BOTH be happy. I bet yours are even nicer since Fast had first pick of the litter!  rofl rofl rofl  BTW,I'll now have my older Lincoln Idealarc 250 with 2( I think I'll offer with it) Tig torches For sale SOON. Gonna give it a good cleanup before posting tho. Got a lot of shop dust on it---about 30 years worth.

Truck may show up tomorrow for picking up. Ill make final arrangments tomorrow am.

I usually follow up the windex with either turtle wax express shine or WD-40.  Don't know if millers are painted or powder coated, but I know wd-40 cleans and shines powder coat good.  Spray rag and wipe down.

Ya got all my cables and torch on it now. just gotta rewire it  for 220 and fire it up. I noticed this SOB runs 131 amps at fulll output! SOB,gotta run a new dedicated circuit and be sure I don't have AC and CNC running at same time if cranking the thing up.

Yeah he did call and leave me a message that they went missing you SOB! Said they were heading to Coffyville in a black truck! Truth be told when he left the message he sounded serious. I thought "hell no he has to be kidding". But I still had a little butterfly in my stomach. Remember now. I would be out on my ass as my buddy paid me for one and I would feel responsible and need to pay him back.

Truck will be at your shop today or Monday. They didnt know if a truck would be in your area today or not.

Im surprised more of you guys didnt jump on this deal! There is still time as there is 6 left I believe. I mentioned this deal to the guy at the welding shop I deal with for my gas and consumables. He said somthing to the effect of "holy christ". I was like "what, is that a good deal" He certianly thought so!

Looks like I need a min. of a 100 amp breaker huh Fab? Better get one comming.

Unless you're going to weld at full output that would work fine. IMO. I know a licensed electrician would NOT agree with that tho.A 100 amper will be more than needed for my use.

Thats all I would ever need. But to be honest, if you would ever try to pull more from that breaker it would trip anyway, So it really is not a saftey issue.

What Ga. wiring do I need for this bad boy? 4? 2?  Id rather use a heavy ass industrial Extention cord (4-3 or 4-4)
and hard wire it into my panel.

Oh and check the charts for whatever 100 amps requires over the TOTAL distance from main panel to the machine including"extension cord" and base your wire size off of that. Or better in my opinion is to run recommended size from main to disconnect box and then use smaller wire recommended for distance from disconnect box to welder.

Sounds like mine are finally on their way!

I got a call from the trucking co. that said they arrived and the people at KS Lumber said there was no pick up for me. I knew Fabr didnt want to send them my way!  rofl rofl  kick
