Realistically,it's just a big MC trans in effect.

Yes.
Ignition interrupt.
Shut off engine ,engage reverse, shutoff engine, engage first.IF the engine idles low enough you don't have to kill engine. Most peeps will have to kill engine tho.

Cool!  Sounds like a bad ass go fast setup.

This will be the bad ass go fast toy for sure. I really want to hit the desert some and ,well,,,,,,,,,,fly. Really the only reason for building this . Gotta find some friends that like desert and maybe the dunes as well now. Of course the run from Gordons well to the Glamis store will always be a BLAST in it!!!!!!!!! Seriously I'm more into the long runs more than the bowls and stuff. Sand hiway at G was a blast to me. Wish we could have run it a few more times.

I could see the vid no problem, But GD is fxxked  every time I try to log in.  The password my computer stores never works and their password recovery tool doesn't work either.  Only site I have ever had trouble with and it is trouble every time.

Well, decided I'll not be primarily on dry hardpack as this car will also get used around here so I decided against the BFG Bajas and went with the newer KM2.  35x12.50x17's

Not nearly as much as the BFG Bajas @ about 600 each. These are the next down the line. If the bajas had a different tread I'd have bought them. These were $325 shipping included. $1300 compared to over $2400 was a no brainer to me.

Well,it's a start. Desert car, gonna get some abuse. 1 3/4 x .120 4130 main tubes with 1.25 x .120 webs in main tub area. ;D ;D Don't laugh ,I like walking away from crashes. ;) ;) Desert car at 100+ mph will like weighing around 3000#'s anyway so the extra .025 wall weight is insignificant,IMO. Should have midboard 934 rear hubs,2" hollow front hubs and snouts, seats, beadlocks, rack, new and more powerful electric power steering here next week. Realistically ,this build should go fairly quickly. Be real nice to hit the desert this winter. Barring any unseen holdups it should be easily done.

Got the heavy ass Fortin sequential 5 speed mounted. Without torque converter it's approx 185 pounds. I dislike flat tabs unless needed  for a bit of flexibility. I take a piece of tube and notch to fit and use a section of .75 x .500 tube or appropriate size for fastener of choice. A lot easier to weld on compared to 2 tabs with a tube welded between. Looks cool also IMO.Of course everything is just tacked in place. Tomorrow will be some diagonals and maybe some upper rear suspension tubes.

That is a sweet adapter / mid mount plate!   :)

But I think the 2" X 6" rectangular frame tubes might be overkill.   rofl

Kidding...

Are you doing the frame design as you go or working off a plan?
