This has been covered many many many times. You are incorrect.

but something else also, isn't an American at all.  We have room for but one
flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is
the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
loyalty to the American people."

DO the research. I've done it so many times I'm not of the mindset to look up all the info again. Wanna put a little money on it?

No Fabr I really do not have any money to burn right now.

But I will say if you were so sure you could back it up.

Your answer is not an answer if you will. Sorry.

Just looked up 12 different sites. EACH one measures HP and Tq AT THE crank so the primary reduction WILL need to be taken into account.

Where has anyone seen the power measured AFTER the primary reduction only?

Not talking rear wheel here.

You need to ask a dyno operator that knows .

I will have to look some more as a few of the sites I went to are guys who build the motors and sell built ones across the US and beyond and they all say horsepower AT THE crank.

Headed into town for a bit but will look more later.

So far not one lick about bypassing primary reduction for the HP and Torque readings the motor makes. Nothing to even suggest it.

Crankshaft HP and Torque will need to be factored with the primary reduction as power flows thru it as far as I can see it and so far nothing else (except Fabr) has suggested otherwise.

The indicated torque is at the output shaft . The output shaft is considered the crank since there is no way to directly take a torque number  from the crank. In other words the tq number is directly measured off the output witth the only reduction consideration being the tranny gear ratio that the pull was done in. To get true crankshaft tq numbers  though you would REDUCE the indicated torque by the primary reduction to get actual CRANK torque number. Example: 99#'/1.596=62#' at the crank with no consideration for mechanical losses through the reduction.

OK, read this http://www.vettenet.org/torquehp.html Then calculate it out using the stock advertised torque and RPM specs and tell Me what you get.

By your estimate of 68FTLB's at the crank you would only end up with about 126HP...............

It's real easy to get the torque # from the crank, all you need is the amount of gear reduction. Same as the way they figure it for a car buy calculating out the rear end and tranny ratios.......

A well built 091 or 094 transaxles will hold up to a turbo busa 8) 8) 8)

We shall see.........

Trans guys are always saying that it there trans will hold up, makes for great repeat customers...........

I will be doing 2 trans swaps on different vehicles here shortly from 091 to the new Weddle box. Both of these cars have all the Weddle gears and high dollar stuff in them and won't go more than 1 trip without problems. 1 is an Ecotec powered Baja bug the other is a 4.3 powered 4 seater. Both motors are stock and both are running 33X10.5 BFG AT's. Anything with over 150FTLB's of torque or 200HP needs something bigger than a bus trans to be reliable.

I don't know who built those transaxles and if every part was in there that needed to be in there. A well built 091 with ALL of Weddle's racing components WILL handle 300 hp and 300 FTLB of torque. I've built a couple of 091 that are coupled to Cadillac northstar V8's that get to crap beat out of them, jumping and pulling wheelies in 1st 2nd and 3rd gears with no problems. A northstar V8 is 300 hp at the flywheel. ;D ;D ;D

If a transaxle is not assembled correctly it will not last.
