Reverser idea

but something else also, isn't an American at all.  We have room for but one
flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is
the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
loyalty to the American people."

Kinda neat but that little cylinder is all that seems to be holding those teeth in place under load.

You would need a hydraulic one for much more than the ten horse they run I am thinking.

Of course IF what I have heard is true the Minibaja guys are tearing up stock Polaris trannies. So IF this is holding then it may be tougher?

I still would like to see the setups that a ten horse motor is tearing a Polaris tranny up in. Of course the 250 poalris trannies are famouns for being weak too. So a builders team should use the 400cc versions trannies. MUCH tougher.

Also any info on how that tranny you posted actually farred in competition?  Its one thing to build a neato-wacko device. Another to make it really work. (like you-all don't know this! lol)

I have no clue about it. It is interesting and I'm betting it is hydraulic activated.  Probably just a small equal size cylinder to engage and lock in .I just posted it for comments.

I know you posted it just to show it and for comments and it is pretty cool.

The lines connecting to the cylidner LOOK like pneumatic line press-in fittings. The cylinder looks like pneumatic too. But could be hydraulic I guess.

I just think that a good load to the gears would try to push that cylinder out the way its built.

Like I said above I wonder how it actually did in the competions?

I'm just guessing LOW pressure hydraulic like a hydraulic throttle. No real pressure but a solid link. Sort of like fasts hydraulic shifter. Therefore a cheaper air cylinder and fittings  and lines could be used. Just a wild, and likely wrong LOL!,guess. I' also would be interested in it's durability.

It's got to be hydro actuated, it needs positive stops in each position( forward & reverse). I would think that a foot operated pedal would provide enough pressure to hold in position against a stop.
