Title: Axle
Post by: Snoopy on March 06, 2011, 10:20:37 PM
I'm using a 400 cc quad motor (LTZ400) and I was considering a jackshaft
Setup using a 6 spline shaft and hub from grobb. The axle shaft is just like what edge and Doug use but I would use 1 1/4" instead of 1 3/8" since my power is so much less than the bigger buggies. My question is, can a jackshaft system be successful or is it just going to be a huge, expensive headache ?
I have it planned out but only on paper , never really seen anything but
Straight axles in a mini before.    Thanks, snoop

Shouldn't be a problem. Post up some pics of what you have sketched out.

1 3/8" seems to be more common and readily available from my expierence. There is also a 21 spline available that has a larger root diameter and a larger contact surface. The price difference isnt even all that much.
