Camels Guide to wiring connectors
« on: July 24, 2009, 11:04:33 AM »
I've just landed $300 worth of Busa plugs.  Had to source from different suppliers all over the world.  An absolute pain in the arse.  Still haven't got the Gen I instrument cluster connector, and the six sets of MX23A plugs used on the Gen II Hayabusa ECU have been ordered, paid for and lost somewhere in transit!

If you start a sticky I'll post up what I've found to-date.  Suppliers are a different issue.  I've found that some have sold out, aren't getting more in, and the manufacturers want you to buy enough to refit every existing Hayabusa on the planet.

When I get some time I'm going to spend some time in a Jap car wrecking yard and identify which cars use the same connectors, then all we need to do is identify the pins used and source them.

Masterfabr,

are you seeking this plug?

Cause if you are, you might be in luck.  But unfortunately, not with me.  I still haven't been able to get a source.  Part of the problem is that I don't have access to one.  I've got photos of it but not of the whole thing. What we need is someone who currently has one to send in some close-up photos of the connector, zooming in as best they can on any identifying marks, symbols, abbreviations, etc.

That would be a great help.  I can't get at one until I get back from North Queensland next week.

Anyone willing to help out?

Thanks mate.  Even if there's a little symbol, like a star or sunrise, or even a 'JAE' on it we should be able to track down the manufacturer.

Plugs directly into the instrument cluster.

Tyco carry it.  They carry an awful lot of AMP plugs.  Been going through the catalogue trying to match it up.  Haven't found it yet.

I looked for a long time a couple of years ago and didn't find it. I hope someone does tho because buying a complete harness is the only alternative isn't it if we don't find it available?
