From working and designing stuff in the process engineering world, I would avoid anything that does not have an IP rating.
To get a rating you have to submit to a bunch of standardised tests.
Theoretically one can "triple seal" something eg switch, but it still wont pass IP53, because of the type/nature of the seals.

That's not to say, at all, that the switches quoted are not suitable for the purpose!

I talked to the owner (Richard) today. The switches do not have a IP. They are aircraft quaility or better, and are used by many trophy trucks. They are made to K4's spec's my a switch maker by the name Carlin. The wire contact points are 4 or 5mil silver treated for a good contact. They are good for 50,000 thurs. and undergo a final sealing process in house. The company has been around since 1975.

Carlin is a respected manufacturer.

I have the extra super bright led too, the red one. It is brighter than the ones on the dash, but the viewing angle for that brightness is limited. You can still see it very well from the side though, and the plastic is clear, so it is easy to tell when it is on, even in the sunlight, not so with the red plastic ones. Dans didn't have the jumbo led's in stock anymore, so I can't compare it to the other led's, but it is as good, if not better than the stock dash lights.
