The pusher plate got bent on the very top,so its being reworked. the pusher plate is 12" tall and it was hiting the ground. So we plan on cuting 2" of the top. Also taking off the brackes and making them taller to the top. This first trial was on a 4' soft maple 28" long. The big test is the 4' dia elm that has a shit load of knots.

Cool splitters.  Back on my Great grandfather's farm in GA, we used a Stickler.  It was a cone shaped screw, about 2 feet long that attached to the wheel studs of his OLD Ford truck.  That made it a 460 CID log splitter.  It would split anything, but was the most dangerous contraption I ever saw.  I was too young to get near it but I saw my dad nearly loose a hand when a log started spinning and grabbed his sleeve.

Way back when the old man had 2 of those driven off the PTO of the John Deere A.....I got all my fingers and toes But like you said T8 I've seen guys get the living shit beat out of them when the chunh of wood gets away....
A 2 way diddier is way faster and a hell of alot safer

Did some upgrades to the skidsteer logsplitter.First pic we boxed in the c-channel for added strength.

Second pic we upgraded the pusher plate. If you look closely you can see where we heated the plate and cut 2" off the top and added longer supports.

Third pic boxed in the back by the wedge for added strength.

Fourth pic added supports by the cylinder and the cylinder support.



Just waiting for parts to show up for my logsplitter. Got the runing gear almost done.Took your advice fabber and welded the coupler on.

I love the way i that video how he's leaning over the splitter cone to pick up the bits of wood. With no dead man cut-out on the truck, what happens when he slips and falls onto the cone? I reckon those logs are a bit tougher than a human torso or skull...
