How do you keep it from sagging unsightly?

You don't look under the car?

Next time I'm up working on the 5 car I'll have to take a couple pictures of the floor on it. It's been on there for 10? years and many race miles and it's still going strong. It's got a few dips and bubbles in it, but nothing really unsightly. Plus it weighs a lot less than aluminum or steel. No rusting or corrosion......

I used aluminum 1/8, i welded the tab under the rail and use cut pieces of rubber under the tab for vibration and to add space so it drains better after hosing out.

Hey i know the weld sucks i did it upsidedown.

You say you attached it with tabs? How closely spaced and did you also need them in the "field" of the belly pan as well as the perimeter?

That all depends upon the type ans size of material you are using for the pan. with 3mm ali it was every 300mm and yes that included all axis so all over the floor where there was a supporting member. I used silicone tween the tabs and the sheet.

I was asking about the tab spacing with the UHMW like BDKW used.

I have ali floor that has been Line-X ed. Holding up great after 4 years and it is not slick and no glare in the sun. I will post pics. Rear side plate was an oversight when building the rail. I am planing on a steel one. On tabs, with sand drain holes may dimple the holes if I buy the dies for some style points.  :)

I'm planning on 1/8" aluminum diamond plate, with a steel wear strip along frame rails. That is the aluminum on bottom side, with a steel flatstock about 1" wide X 1/32" thick below that, which will help prevent screw erosion of aluminum. Also acts as a narrow skidplate to help protect ali at frame rails.

Most anything can get bashed up but I'm thinking the aluminum should be able to handle most of what comes along, with some good support framing.

Same as the 6061 skid plate it replaced. About 10" on center or so depending on where the cross tubes are.
