3D Hayabusa model
« on: May 26, 2011, 07:45:52 AM »
Does anybody have a 3D Hayabusa engine IGES model or something I can succesfully import to Pro-E as a solid?

It doesn't have to be perfect but just a rough envelope model.  Ideally the sprocket and motor mount locations would be the most valuable to me as far as accuracy is concerned...............

Nice!

Yah that looks similar to the model I used.  I downloaded a 2-d cad version (I am not saying that it is the same as this one but the way the head is radiused and the level of detail is the same.

Point is that the mounts were way off.  I just suggest that you double check some mount measurements if you are trying to use them for actual locations.  I found the head mounts (which aren't symetrical to be "twisted" from each other by 3/8" around 7 degrees, and the rear mounts were 3/16" off in separation.

The site says 1/4" tolerance I think.
"There can be no divided allegiance here.  Any man who says he is an American,
but something else also, isn't an American at all.  We have room for but one
flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is
the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
loyalty to the American people."

I have a motor sitting in the garage you can be sure I will check before cutting metal :)

I'm mostly interested in the mounting points near the sprocket for right now.  Those will be much easier to measure!
