New Toy
« on: April 14, 2009, 10:29:07 PM »
This arrived today,

All I gotta do now is learn how to use it!

6" indexed rotary table (2 axis). I actually wanted an 8" but the price explodes from this size and up.. budget said I had to make do....

I'm excited! Hell I love toys......  ;D ;D

Any hints or tips from you experienced millers out there would be appreciated. Just got to clean the packing grease of and read the instructions....

Let me know how you go mate.

Mate, that Im not sure about. Primarily indexing of holes, milling round objects on the vertical and horizontal axis. But Im pretty sure i could cut external splines with it.

Thats what I meant about comments from the experienced guys here, I know what I want to do with it but I also want to know what I CAN do with it... (apart from jamming it up my a....  ;D ;D ;D)

I wish!!  ...  would you believe I am soooo far out in the boonies that our town received its ONLY cnc mill/lathe/coffee maker a few months ago?

The workshop its installed in still lays flowers at its pedestal each morning and makes sacrifices of infants each evening on its bed.... they are waiting for a 'sign'......  :o :o

(sometimes its frustrating living in such a backward society as ours...)

Dont you need to make some new legs for the desk? Got to have tools to do that dont ya? A old lathe tailstock will work well...
